November 15 |
Thanksgiving Program at Scott Avenue Christian Church, 404
Scott Ave, Newton, IL at 2:00 p.m. It is open to all homeschooling
families. We will have a program and then refreshments. Each
family can sign up for a 3-5 minute time slot in the program. You
may do a song, reading, quote, poem, skit, Bible verse, etc... about
Thanksgiving. Please call or email Sarah Weaver if you'd like to
participate. She can be reached at
sarahannweaver@yahoo.com or 618-553-7262. She also has
found some ideas online if anyone needs help thinking of something
to do. We will also have an area set up where we can display any
Thanksgiving work, crafts, and projects. It can be as simple as a
handwriting page or a special project you've worked on. During
refreshment time, everyone will have a chance to view the
displays. This is a great event to invite grandparents or other
family members to come and share in what your kids have been
learning. If there is anyone who would be willing to make a pie or
dessert they can just let Sarah know. |

Ballard Nature Center field trip.
We will meet at the center at 9:00.
Plan on two hours for the activities. If the weather is decent, we
can eat in the pavilion; otherwise, we’re on our own for lunch.
The cost is $2 per child (adults are free). To better serve the
kids, they would like a breakdown of ages, so please prepay and
register by November 7, including the ages of your children.
Register by emailing Kris Rensner
at jkrensner@yahoo.com.
Checks should be made out to ECIHEN and either dropped off at the
October meeting or mailed to 56 Springchester Lane, Mattoon 61938.
