ECIHEN has started a preschool ministry called Tiny Tots.  This area of our site will highlight events geared toward preschoolers.  If you have an idea of an event that you'd like added, please email Beka Murphy at bekamurph@gmail.com.  We also have a special area of our forum just for moms of preschoolers.  To view this area of the forum, click here.  Here you will find instructions for how to get to the forum.  Once there, you will see the preschool thread.

Click here to view other ECIHEN events, not limited to preschool events.

November 15

Thanksgiving Program at Scott Avenue Christian Church, 404 Scott Ave, Newton, IL at 2:00 p.m.  It is open to all homeschooling families.  We will have a program and then refreshments.  Each family can sign up for a 3-5 minute time slot in the program.  You may do a song, reading, quote, poem, skit, Bible verse, etc... about Thanksgiving.  Please call or email Sarah Weaver if you'd like to participate.  She can be reached at sarahannweaver@yahoo.com or 618-553-7262.  She also has found some ideas online if anyone needs help thinking of something to do.  We will also have an area set up where we can display any Thanksgiving work, crafts, and projects.  It can be as simple as a handwriting page or a special project you've worked on.  During refreshment time, everyone will have a chance to view the displays.  This is a great event to invite grandparents or other family members to come and share in what your kids have been learning.  If there is anyone who would be willing to make a pie or dessert they can just let Sarah know.

November 19

Ballard Nature Center field trip.  We will meet at the center at 9:00.  Plan on two hours for the activities.  If the weather is decent, we can eat in the pavilion;  otherwise, we’re on our own for lunch.  The cost is $2 per child (adults are free).  To better serve the kids, they would like a breakdown of ages, so please prepay and register by November 7, including the ages of your children.  Register by emailing Kris Rensner at jkrensner@yahoo.com.  Checks should be made out to ECIHEN and either dropped off at the October meeting or mailed to 56 Springchester Lane, Mattoon 61938.  Go to www.ballardnaturecenter.org for more information.

December 4

Craft Day.  Thursday December 4th 12:00-4:00p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church (between Charleston & Mattoon).  We will be making holiday crafts/gifts.  Please click here to view the flyer. For more information, please contact Winnie Caskey at im4more@gmail.com.

December 4

ECIHEN Christmas party.  This will be held during our December monthly meeting at 6:30p.m.  It is for adults only (and small babies).  ECIHEN will provide food and beverages.  Please bring a wrapped White Elephant gift for an exchange.  This can be a gag gift, something from home or an inexpensive new gift.  We need to have a count of how many are coming so we can planned the food (pizza, salad, dessert) so please RSVP by December 1.  Email Shelley at shelley@ecihen.net to RSVP or for more information.

We will also have a cookie exchange during the meeting.  If you wish to participate, please bring your cookies packaged by the dozen in Ziploc bags or containers you don't want returned.

If you have an event to add to this list, please email Shelley Tobens.
